Grace Lutheran Board Meeting December 2021
Arnold Heyen, Gary Grivnalds, Miranda Kliment, Allan Pearson, and Esther Jonas were present.
Gary opened with a prayer.
Sue Palm has asked if we were going to give money this year to our usual benefits. The answer is yes. To Wahoo and Raymond Central backpack programs $250.00 each and $400.00 to the VFW fund.
The secretary’s minutes were read and approved. Arnold motioned; Allan seconded.
Our church services will now be at 10:30am on Sundays.
Steeple and dormer; We have only made two payments. They are not able to find a specialized person to do them. The products are at church so if they don’t do it in the fall or winter, it may be done in the spring. Should we put the products in doors? Arnold will call to find out what will happen. Also the front doors still need to be fixed.
Agape feast: We will talk about this again next years since it works well with thanksgiving.
Our year long service theme will be “Grace”
We still need to work on our mission statement
There were 21 quilts sent to Lutheran World Relief and several boxes of backpacks
December 5th we will decorate church before service.
New Business:
Service project: jails, blankets to those in need
Christmas service – Gary will not do Czech Presbyterian church. He will do the Latvian church in Lincoln then Grace’s service.
We will not have Advent services but we will have Lenten services with evening services on Wednesday nights.
When will we have real communion again? Need to talk to Bishop Maas office to find out. This time we can make our communion bread.
Gary needs tuition money a total of $8,000. He will graduate in 2024.
How do we get new families to join?
Bishop Maas is resigning.
We ended the meeting with the lords prayer
