BOARD MINUTES

April 16, 2023

Board members who were present were Arnold Heyen, Miranda Kliment, Leah Whitcomb, Shannon Williams, Gary Grindvalds, Esther Jonas and guest was Rhonda Obert.

The minutes were read and accepted.

The insurance company, Church Mutual Insurance, has increased our deductible, and also high wind/hail deductible.  Our monthly commercial premium increased from $555.87 to $694.25 monthly.  This is an increase of $137.28 a month.  

A discussion was had on the purchase of a new electric organ.  The board met with Greg Johnson from ALLEN Organ.  Of three options that he showed, the ALLEN GX-215 was chosen by the board.   The total for it would be $39,850.00 (unless they find problems during the install process).  With this price included would be delivery, installation and amp; wiring of speakers, voicing to the room acoustic and a 10 year parts/5 year labor service warranty.  We also need to find an electrician that will come and wire the organ on its own dedicated f0 amp circuit near where the organ is to be placed.  Greg Johnson also suggested that we go with 4 HR200 cabinets and grills.  The organ we chose, the ALLEN GX-215 comes with 2.  This would increase the bill by $3,401.00.  (Two HR200 utility cabinets/grills @ $1,926.00 /B-20F cabinet/grill @$1,475.00)

They require 20% down payment with an additional 70% due when the instrument is ready to ship and then the final 10% upon completion of installation and acceptance by us.  We do need to go through the congregation with this but we need to do it fast as in a few days the price will increase by 20%.

We have a surplus of $13905.00 from the roofing money from the insurance company that will be used for this.  The rest we will ask the congregation for a donation of about $10,000 and also donations from the memorial fund, Luther League and general fund.

If someone wants to pay for repair of the pipe organ they will need to know that it will probably have to be repaired again in a few years.

Memorial Day Picnic will be May 28, 2023

June 4, 2023 will be changing to 9:00am.

The Joint service with St. Johns in Yutan is still on hold.

We have a new member:  Brittney Reinsch.  She comes to us from Grace Lutheran of Sutton, NE.
