Board Minutes

May 19, 2024

Board members present were Miranda Kliment, Vicar Gary Grindvalds, Pat

Heyen, Arnold Heyen, Shannon Williams and Esther Jonas.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and Pat made the motion and

Shannon seconded to accept the minutes.

Grace sent an invitation to Cech Prez to come to our Memorial Day picnic and to

celebrate Gary’s graduation. The cemetery board will provide the meat we just need to

provide 2 sides. Church only on May 26, 2024 will begin at 10:30.

Grace will have two weddings in July. July 6 and July 13.

Jackie Boquist's funeral will be June 8 at 11:00 at Grace.

So now the question is what do we do with the parsonage. A suggestion is to

donate it to the local rural fire department to practice with, another is to offer it to the

public to have it moved off the property. Inform the insurance company that no one is

living there. Now we will move the parsonage fund into the general fund. We will inform

the congregation that Jackie has passed and what we plan to do.

The internship committee met on May 1. The application was filled out for

another CL (collaborative learning) student. We will wait and see.

Pastor Heidi did not want any payment for substituting for Gary.

The Synod meeting will be coming up and Larry & Pat Heyen will be going May

31-June 2.

July is when we expect to ordain Gary as a Pastor. It will be done here at Grace.

We need to wait, however, when Gary has accepted a new church and when the Bishop

is able to make it.

Miranda checked with the synod and we do not need to have by-laws.
